Darn! Now I remember why I found this article of no use to me before. The first Rea he mentions is Matthew Rea (of Drumbo), who was the immigration agent who brought County Down settlers to America during 1772-1775. Unfortunately, DNA testing has confirmed that Matthew Rea of Drumbo was a descendant of William Rea of Drumskee (1680-1785), who is NOT my ancestor, as it turns out. My DNA does not match that line, nor even come close. So, since Roulston says that Matthew was a son of David Rea of Magheraknock, that makes this whole line descendants of William Rea of Drumskee - a fact that Roulston doesn't seem to be aware of.

Well, at least that helps me to rule out the Reas of Magheraknock. I still wonder about the Reas of Ballynahinch and Holywood, though, as well as the Reas I'm certain are mine - the Reas of Newry.

Gary
