Sharon:Your jesse rhea may be the son of the decendants of elder william rhea of augusta co va, I can't remember all the names but matthew sutherland rhea, john rhea, joseph rhea, and archabald rhea are a few of them, I read a thing about elder william rhea, it said they were re4lated to the ray's over in the next countie (amherst) which is where my people came from and they moved from scott co va to pike co/floyd countie in the mid 1820's, there is also another set of ray's called the brushy cr ray's, dad told me years ago we were related to them also, my line comes from john watson ray sr b. about 1765 in amherst co va, he and his wife rutha robertson raised their children in scott co va, washington co va was the name when they first moved there, something I found out might help you in your records search, when they finally carved up washington co va it made 5 virginia countie's and a chunk of both tenn. and north carolina, it was huge, so you might want to browse the its records and yes there is a jesse rhea, in the personal property list, good luck ...jim
