Hello All:I still believe that my family is connected to yours.I will try to spell this out in logical order.I have been confused before trying to make this connection, so hang in there with me.
Susannah Rasor/Razor born in Carter/Johnson County, Tennessee between 1810 and 1817 married Baldwin Howard of Carter County, Tennessee in Elizabethton in 1828.
Baldwin Howard, Samuel Howard (they were brothers) are separated by one household from John Raser on the 1830 Carter Co., TN Census.
I am confident that John Raser is Susannah's father. He is listed as over 70 in the Census.I would guess he was born between 1750 and 1760.At that time, I believe he was married to Hannah who was between the age of 30 and 40 on the Census.Undoubtedly, Hannah is not John's first wife.Hannah was born in North Carolina and is still living on the 1850 Daviess Co. Indiana census in the household of Baldwin and Susannah Raser Howard. Some people say that Hannah was born a Kent - unconfirmed.
I know that Susannah Raser was connected to Mary Alice Racer-Lyon's family, but I'm not sure how. They lived very close to each other near Odon, in Daviess Co., Indiana.
In later years Mary Alice's Eli Racer (born 1855) married Sarah Ann Haverstock who is a sister to Baldwin Howard's daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Haverstock, who married Alford Howard. And, Eli's sister, Hannah (born 1863) married Baldwin Howard (one of Baldwin Howard, Sr.'s grandsons).
Perhaps Mary Alice Ely Razor (born 1791) could be the brother of Susannah Raser Howard.
When Susannah Raser Howard died in 1888 it seems that Mary Alice's family left for Missouri.
In the cemetery at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Odon, there are two Raser graves:William and Martin. On one of the stones it says son of John and Hannah Raser. There are other Rasers buried there, but the writing on the partially buried stones has been weathered away.
There are two very young boys on the 1830 Carter Co., Census that would be sons of Hannah and John Raser.I tend to think that Martin and William are those sons.

There is family legend that Abigal Raser was her sister. This would be an ancestor of Sean McAlister.
