I hope that a few Raysor genealogists will materialize now that there's an official forum! I am researching the family of Michael Raysor, who was born in New Bern, Craven County, NC (on the coast) about 1770.
We believe his father also was Michael Raysor, but we don't know anything about the origin of the name- Welsh or German?- or the origin of this family in the US. We don't know if Michael had siblings. I would love to connect them to the Pennsylvania Raysors. Our Raysors migrated to Colleton County, SC, near Charleston, in the late 1700s. Michael married Eleanor Risher (French Huguenot, also from New Bern).
