Hello,
I don't really know. I'm fairly sure I have the right census - Charles' marriage certificate lists his parents as Henry and Mary. And the age for Charles is right, and it's in the right state. But the 1870 and 1880 census information is the only reason I know Henry and Mary were both born in New York and their birth years (+/- a year). I don't know where in New York they came from, nor what their parents names might be.
Charles deserted the family after my GGM died. My GM was only 12 or so at the time, so I don't have any details about Charles. I can't find him in the Wisconsin birth records to order his birth certificate. He was born pre-1907 so it may only be recorded in some church somewhere.
I was sort of hoping to find a connection with someone coming the other way. :o)
