HI John,
I had read in a book on names, in our city library, that Raphael(Rayfield)is Jewish/Mediteranean meaning messenger of God(as I remember). I want to relocate this book, and I will let all know what I find. I am really curious if Rayfields originated in the UK, or immigrated from the continent, and if so, from where. How long ago do you trace "our" name back in time in the Uk?
Do you know if the name has any specific meaning? Or, do you know what source I can contact to work on this? Hope to hear from you soon. Debbra
