I realise that your message is over three years old but I hope that this reaches you in due course.
From where did William Rayfield originate before he emigrated to NC in 1703? I am descended from the Rayfields in the Clerkenwell area of London whom I have traced back to the 1760's. I am aware that a large number of Rayfields came from Kent but so far I do not know that anybody has found a link between Kent & Clerkenwell.
Having paid a visit to the Family Record Centre in London recently I have some work to do bringing my family tree up to date but would be happy to share what I have should you be interested.
