Thanks for the information. I am haven't had time this summer to look at my family history stuff, and my computer freaked out on me, so I don't have access to all my information.
I do remember thinking William Jordan sounded like the father of John at one point, but don't remember why I thought that. If I come across my notes or able to recover my notes on my old computer I will let you know why I thought that. There was also another name I was thinking could be the father but have not clue what that was now.
Angie Rayfield had information about three brothers and one went to Alabama, one said in North Carolina (I believe), and she did not know what happened to the third, at one point many years ago we had thought perhaps John Raffiel was this brother, but again I do not have my notes to explain why we thought this.
I feel like I am starting my search from scratch again, as I have to try and re-enter what paper notes I have and research what I have already done to get everything back into a genealogy program. Now I have a CD Burner so I can save my big genealogy file so this doesn't happen again!
Sorry, I had to ramble on, only someone in the genealogy world would now how frustrating this is,so I had to ramble.
Again, thank you for your information. I will see if I can figure out why William Jordan in my reasoning could be the father to John and let you know.
Have a great and safe holiday weekend.
