Hi Debbra!
Please forgive me if I have not been consistant with my responses. Between my PC often going on the bum, and my packing for my move it has been getting a little hairy around here. Here is a copy of what I have on the Rayfields and Rumbles. I have not been able to put as much time to my research so am falling a little behind. I also don't remember responding to your last message nor do I remember the Forum even sending it to me. I'm a little feather brained lately. Anyway, here goes:

RAYFIELD
My Dad - Albert Harry Rayfield,
Born Chatham Kent, January 1906
address: 23 Glencoe Road, Chatham, Kent Registered
Middlesex Somerset House
His Brother - Leslie Thomas ( I not sure if he was older, if so he was born
in Kent
also, married here Montreal wife Elizabeth and both buried here)
His Sisters - Dorothy (also, if older, born in Kent, if not, born in
Montreal, married here Montreal to, I think, Allen Taylor)
Jean (born in Montreal, never Married) I am not sure if
this is her birth name, as she was put up for adoption
as a baby when her mother died in 1918 and her dad
couldn't take
care of an infant. We knew her, but
her name was Jean Jackson after adoption. I remember
Dorothy and Jean owned a home in Halifax, Nova
Scotia, Canada. I remember them spending their summers
there.
I do believe Jean died there and possibly
Dorothy. I am still checking into this. I also remember
going to a farm on the Ontario border when young to
visit some of my father's family, but, that is all I
remember. I know my Dad came when a baby as he used to
say the only accent I came over with was
ga ga goo goo. I am assuming he was talking long before
1910!!!! I have not figured out yet how to find the ship he came over on.
His Father - William Stephen Rayfield
died here in Montreal at 59 years of age. The only
William that corresponds in the 1881 Census is 2 yrs.
His Mother - Ada Mary Rumble died here in Montreal in 1918. I have her
(kindly looked up for me) in the 1881 Census
Ada and William were listed as Married in the December
quarter 190l in Chatham Kent.

William Stephen Rayfield (I hope) in the 1881 Census:
