Hi Amelia, regarding Thomas Rawlinson of Ulverston.
I'm the Jill who was with Robyn Stoddart in New Zealand a few weeks ago.
There is a Thomas Rawlinson, grandson of the twin Thomas, still alive in Manchester England, aged 93.He was my father's cousin.(Dad, son of Annie Lewis nee Rawlinson, died 2003) I see him from time to time and he is very interested in my family research.
He mentioned something about a prominent Lieutenant Rawlinson in the First World War being a family member.
Today I've been on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website and found two possible names listed as coming from Graythwaite.Lancs. There is no such village on the road map so I wonder if it's a mistranscription. Have you heard any family stories about World War One deaths?
Jill
I hope to see the living Tom Rawlinson very soon so will ask him more.
Jill
