Hi Amelia
My great grandfather Thomas had 8 children. He died in 1917.
Of those 8 children 3 sisters emigrated to New Zealand in about 1920. One of the siblings Rebecca died when she was quite young. Three siblings John, Margaret and Annie stayed in England. Frances (Tassie) emigrated to NZ quite a few years after her sisters
The sisters names were Isabella, Ivy and May. Aunty Tassie emigrated to NZ in 1959 and lived with my Nana, Isabella.
I believe Tassie had a bridal shop in Manchester but not in Christchurch??
I currently have the granddaughter of Annie (Thomas's eldest child) visiting from England. We have managed to find out a missing link, that of Thomas's twin and other siblings and of course his parents. We have been unable to find Thomas or any of his family on the census which is frustrating. Would love to find out more info my email is robynstoddart@xtra.co.nz
I used to spend a little bit of time with my Nana and I recall Aunty Tassie used to right to a niece in Australia and family in the USA but I did not know who you were
