A short while ago I bought a brass coffin plate (I am into all things funerary). It gives the name ROWLAND RAWLINSON and the year of death - 1786 - and his age - 71. Some people feel that it may not be a coffin plate as the date is not in full, but it obviously relates to an actual person. It has two screw holes. I have discovered that surprisingly there are several persons with this name, but so far have not found one with this burial year. Can anyone identify this man?
