I am trying to track any information on my Rawle ancestors from the period 1550 through to the end of the 18th century. Initially they lived in Oare, Somerset, and then moved to Lynton, Devon, by the beginning of the 18th century.
More particularly, I would be interested to hear from anyone who knows anything about the earliest recorded ancestor, John Rawle, who was born circa 1550 in Oare, married Mary in about 1574 in Oare, and died 27 May 1605 in Oare. He was a sheep farmer and his eldest son was called David.
