Hello Carol,

Thanks for your message, as you probably know, Josephine Taylor is also related to the same Anne RAWLE and Henry BATHE.

There are no Parish Registers of St. Juliot in Cornwall before 1657 and the first ones in that register were all for the RAWLE Family, so I suspect that Francis RAWLE bought the register. He was the landowner there at the time and he and the family of MOLESWORTH held all the tithes for the parish between them right up to the Victorian era. Francis was the nephew of your Anne.

Anne was one of five children mentioned in the will of her father Francis RAWLE in 1646, and his father was called William RAWLE and his will was dated 1605. His father was another William, but I don't have much info about him, because he died about a hundred years before the parish registers start. I do however have a number of documents relating to the family which mention him.

Email me direct at if you would like more information.
