Hello Peter,

Warin or Varin de Bivelie, als Byvele, als Bylegh als de Ravenescroft signed his lands over to Dieulacres Abbey in exchange for lands around Ravenscroft in the 13th century according to Ormerods's History of Cheshire vol 3, page 207 The 806 bit is more than likely false as I believe they didn't use surnames in this country until Norman times. I've managed to trace one of my Ravenscroft lines right back to Warin. Mine also were in London, they were innholders.
