Joseph Ratliff, b. abt 1877, TX
Recently it has been brought to my attention that My grand father Joseph Ratliff, having no middle name, use to use various middle initials (names) when he thought one was needed on documents or ?he also used various birth years to served different purposes.. so there fore I am trying to collect documentation on any and all Joseph Ratliffs born between 1874 and 1880, in the Florence, Williamson Co., Texas area.If you would like to share with me, I would appreciate it, or if you have ran into a Joseph, "JOE", Ratliff in these states that seems to be hanging out there all by his lonesome with no past or furture from that point, it may be my grand dad using the wrong identification.. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado and Washington State.
I know this to be true due to family original documents where he did the above, used initials and wrong birth years intentionally.
As for his father another Joseph Ratliff, my gr grand dad, he married Francis Harrell (sic)and when she passed away in 1886, Florence, TX.. it was not two years until he remarried, the second wife. I do not know her name and am interested in finding that infromation out as well. She was a widow, having one daughter when she married Joseph Ratliff. He too lived in the Florence area.
Please e-mail me directly and leave message here too, as I am not able to return to GenForum as often as I would like:

thank you.
