Have just seen your posting about the information you have and have become very excited.
My Ratliff family came out of Anson Co., NC and migrated to Stewart Co., TN., Washington Co., AL and ultimately to Madison & Rankin Co., MS.
As a result of recent DNA testing, I am a very close DNA match to 3 other Ratliff's who have descended from the Hickman Co., TN Ratliff's.We are most interested in finding out all we can about this branch of the family and how they connect back into Anson Co., TN.Also, who was the Ratliff that left Anson Co., when did he leave andwhere was he headed in Tennessee when he left Anson Co.?
Your information is close to one of our William Ratliff's who was born around 1779 and died around 1840 (look familiar?).His parents are listed as Thomas Ratliff and Sarah Diggs. However we have no other information on this William as to who he married and who his children were.
You show a wife and children for your William b. 1780 in Anson Co., NC.Do you have any documentation regarding the marriage and children? The reason I am asking is there has been much erroneous information posted around about our Ratliff Family and I would only like to provide accurate and correct information.
Your John Anna Ratliff matches as the last child of John & Minerva Ratliff that we have from other sources (undocumented). Therefore, we are very interested in what other documentation you can offer as to the connection we may have to this Hickman Co. branch of the family.
This is a really exciting find and we would welcome the chance to hear further from you.Since about 5 years has passed since your posting, maybe there is other information that someone knows. So we will look forward to hearing from you or anyone else who can provide information on the above.
Thank you for any and all consideration
