Hello,
Does anyone have any information regarding Noah Ratliff, b.1840, son of Polly Ratliff.
He was married to Elizabeth Riley.
My ancestor is Tamsy, b.May 1867, wife of Jack(A.J.) Adkins. My initial research led me to believe that Tamsy was the daughter of Noah Ratliff. However, I was told she was actually a Carter.
My new research led me to Noah Carter. I have tried to find any other information about Noah Carter in Pike Co.,KY(or Floyd/Lawrence), but I have had no luck.
I know my Tamsy had a sister named Vennie. I researched her, and came up with Louvenia Hobbs. I thought I had a good lead, but it turns out that Louvenia's maiden name was Ratliff(maybe Noah Ratliff's daughter). So, now I don't know what to think.
I can find no other Tamsy/Vennie combination other than Noah Ratliff's daughters. I can find no other instance where someone named Tamsy had a sister named Vennie who married a Hobbs.
As far as death records, the only Tamsy Adkins I've found whose age fits my ancestor is Tamsy Ratliff Adkins d.9/3/1926 Pike Co., daughter of Noah Ratliff and Elizabeth Riley.
The informant on Noah Carter's death certificate was a Garland Adkins--which also happens to be the name of one of my Tamsy's sons(Louvenia Ratliff Hobbs also had a son named Garland).
I would appreciate if anyone has any information about Noah Ratliff---his death date/burial place to be exact. If I can find out if Noah Carter and Noah Ratliff are two different people, then I can move on and research other areas. Noah Carter is buried in Collins Cemetery.
