William Rather (b.1741) had a wife Sarah (whose eldest child was born in 1763). Her maiden name is not known. They lived in Dinwiddie County, and eventually went to Rutherford County, Tennessee. They had children: Daniel, Samuel, Brighwell, Jesse, William, Rawley, Elizabeth, Asa, Enoch, and Baker (just in case any of those names are family ones).
