Rather from Colbert County Alabama by Uyless Lee Glover of 170 Mr. Glover, I was just cleaning out some old books and came across a small book entitled "Locust Hill". I purchased the book at a flea market because I like old houses. I was about to get rid of this book but thought I would check Genforum to see if there was anyone looking for the Rather family in North Alabama. The book was written by Mary Wallace Kirk. It has the story of the house and the Rather family in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Do you think this is your family. It has a Pediagree chart starting with John Taylor Rather.
