Look for relatives of a Cpt. Rather from Colbert County Alabama

Hello, I am trying to trace down any information on relatives of mine who may be Rather's who were from Colbert County Alabama (Leighton, Spring Valley, Tuscumbia). My grand mother was originally a Rather before she married Thomas Glover. Her great grand father was the one that was called Cpt. Rather and served in the civil war on the side of the Confederacy. He had a son which I do not know his name due to my grand parents dying when I was just a small child. All of my relatives are dead now only just for a few who are not able to give me any information at all. I need help. Anyone that may be able to steer me into the right direction, please email me. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Also, I do know that my grand mother's father remarried when his wife died and it was a Smith that he married. My grand mother was Juanita Rather.
