If Erastus HOLDRIDGE married in 1842, then he must have been born about 1820, so Charles born in 1795, not 1808, must have been his father.
WATEROUS was a shortened form of WATERHOUSE.

Samuel HOLDRIDGE (17 May 1734, Stonington, NL, CT - 28 July 1813) m. 4 March/July 1762, Abigail PERIGO (8 Aug. 1738 - 29 Jan. 1822). Samuel's birth is in CT VR, Stonington, in the Barbour Collection 128:3:31, Samuel, son of Samuel, b. May 1734.
Samuel HOLDRIDGE (17 May 1705, Stonington - _ ) m. 23 S 1731, by Ebenezer ROSSITER, Stonington, Sarah FELLOWS (3 Jan. 1710/1, Stonington - bu. 17 May 1803, Old Road Ch., Stonington), dau/o Ephrraim FELLOWS & Hannah WARNER.[I think there was a misunderstanding of the calendar about the birth month of Sarah.Her birth was third of the tenth month, so some have listed it as October, but I think it was old style, January.]
