GENEALOGICAL ABSTRACTS FROM REPORTED DEATHS THE NASHVILLE CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE, GIDEON RATCLIFFE died March 3, 1854 aged 69 years in Williamsburg; moved to Williamson Co., Tenn. in 1826. FRANCIS GIDEON RATCLIFFE, Williamson Co., Tenn., died a few months ago; a panegyric written by A. T. Goodloe and dated February 14, 1885. F. G. RATCLIFF born May 20, 1818; died Williamson Co., Tennessee, September 6, 1884; married three times; first to Miss Reams, second to Mrs. Harding, third to Mrs. T. J. Doud who survived him; had several sons and daughters in the first marriage. JOHN W. RATCLIFFE born Williamsburg, Va., Jan. 8, 1820; moved with parents to Franklin, Tenn. in 1826; married Sarah Reams, Oct. 4, 1845; 8 children. A resolution of respect in his memory by St. Paul's Methodist Church, dated December 31, 1887. WILLIAM P. RATCLIFFE son of John W. and Sarah Ratcliffe died in Denver, Col., Nov. 25, 1887. MARY RATCLIFFE SCALES wife of Dr. P. D. Scales, Bethesda, Tenn., born Mar. 14, 1852; died Nov. 18, 1887. MARTHA P. RATCLIFFE w/o F. G. Ratcliffe, born Williamson Co., Tenn. Nov. 3, 1818; died in same county, Nov. 9, 1861; joined MEC 1837. MARION C. RATCLIFFE, nee Roberts, born Jan. 27, 1820; died Aug. 3, 1873; flux; md "Mr." Harding, Davidson Co., Tenn. who soon died; md F. G. Ratcliffe of Williamson Co., Tenn.; left widower and several stepchildren; buried in McGavock Cemetery near Franklin, Tenn. WYNDHAM RATLIFF son of George W. and Rebecca Ratliff, born Saltville, Va., Oct. 7, 1880; died Jan. 21, 1897. JOHN J. RATCLIFFE son of John A. and Mattie Ratcliffe, born July 3, 1893; died April 1, 1895 WILLIAM H. RATCLIFFE oldest son of F. G. Ratcliffe died Williamson Co., Tenn., Nov. 24, 1889 in the 44th year of his age. ANNA PIERCE RATCLIFFE born Nashville, Tenn., June 10, 1852; died Denver, Colorado, Oct. 27, 1889. LEMUEL PRICE RATLIFF born Aug. 17, 1888; died July 2, 1889; son of R. H. and Frances Ratliff. PAULINA T. OWEN, nee Ratliffe, born Shelby Co., Ky., Aug. 17, 1807; died in same county, May 26, 1885; married Robert Owen, March 1840; a wife and mother. SUSAN RATCLIFF died Aug. 27, 1873 at residence of son-in-law, Harmon Cardwell; born in Va. 1787; moved to Ky. in 1801 and settled in Fayette County; she died in Shelby Co., Ky.; had been md and left children surviving her. JAMES WRIGHT b nr. Edinburgh, Scotland, Feb. 26, 1789; d Bloomington, Illinois April 22, 1874; went to U. S. when about 6 years old; md Sarah Ratcliffe when abt. the age of 27 years. FANNIE THOMAS RATCLIFF b Shelby Co., Ky., July 1, 1857; d May 29, 1871; d/o Samuel A. Ratcliff; was a Presbyterian; had a step-brother.
