Jane, i just found your message, for some reason i am not being notified about messages posted to the genforum site anymore. pretty convincing timeframe. there was one last son of sam/mary carter, daniel rivers carter b 1841 fl., both daniel/john married within a week apart in 1865 and the girls last name was morgan. i do not know if they are related but at least one morgan wife was born in WALTON CO FL., d/o labon morgan. so, elizabeth married hugh j ratcliff and his sister married a carmichael, and the mother of james washington carmichael was 1st married to duncan carmichael and then 2nd to our samuel carter. this explains the mention of samuel carter/mary and the two carmichael boys and the carter children in the HH of samuel carter/mary in the book on carmichael clan and related families??? .................... make sense to you??? now, when did our samuel carter die and where is he buried??? it would seem likely that mary outlived him and perhaps was with one of her children, if so which one? perhaps, the most likely one to me would be one of the daughters, elizabeth or sarah , but which one and do we know who sarah married and when/where? email me as i was just browseing when i found this message, richard
