Im Steve. I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. My dad's name is Ratchford. We are African-American. He is from Shelby, NC. and some of the family is from Gaffney, SC. I am not sure where everyone is from but I think the family is quite big. My dad's mother's maiden name was Stevenson, if that helps. I would just like to know a little bit about the family name, how we got it and if there are in caucasian Ratchfords that my have given there slaves or the slaves my have taken the Ratchford name. Can anyone help me? Does anyone know what country the Ratchford name originated? I am in the nucleus stage of tracing my family tree, I figured the WWW is a great place to start. I hope to hear from someone real soon. Take care and thanks in advance!
