I hope in time I will learn some of the words. I have been looking into a bit of the history of Denmark. Looking at those photos makes me wonder if they were happy to end up in Iowa, I mean with no oceans and coast and such but then I read about the wars and things and think the scenery was not really the issue. Our families went through a lot over there then their children came over here and went through so much more. Put's things in prospective lol.I really do appreciate all your and everyone elses help with this. When I started I had a photo of a grandmother that died when my dad was little. A woman everyone said I looked like but I never knew. My grandfather pulled away from her family after the car accident she was killed in. I think he felt guilty. So I had nothing to go on except a photo and a name. Turns out the name was a middle name. I looked for a long time but I did not know what I was doing so I did not find much but I reached out and asked and you all in this Genealogy Family so to speak, just helped. Not only did someone help me find my grandmother but things she signed and places she had been. I was so happy with that. I called my dad we were so happy. Then someone helped find her parents and then I found their parents. Now again I just ask and you all are helping me get it to my family in Denmark. I know these are just words on a forum but I want you all to know how very special this is to me. I have longed to know the woman I never got to call Grandma and you all not only helped me do that but you all helped me know where my roots go. I wish I could go back and find each person that helped and thank them one by one from the bottom of my heart but I will leave this here and hope any of you that help anyone else knows it means the world to some of us and I am so thankful.
