Raskin in Belgium

Hi, my name is Peter Schmidtke from Birkenwerder / Germany. My wife - Jeannette Raskin - has ancestors in Belgium. The oldest one we could discover was Leonard Raskin (Rasquin), which married on January 10. 1757 in Ottre / Belgium the Marie Catherine Bastin. In 1758 he was called "villicus ex Hebronval". May be that he was also born there.

Is there anybody who have more informations about him?

His descendents changed to Malmedy where we could follow them till a still in Malmedy / Belgium living family. Our ancestor Jean Remy Raskin (*1847 in Malmedy migratet to Potsdam / Germany and opend up our "German Raskin Line" with several living persons in Berlin and now Birkenwerder.

I've got another question: I've read, that the origin Raskins were comming from Spain and migratet about 1492 to Russia / Poland / Belgium. Where can I get more informations about this? And also I've heard, that the meaning of the name "Raskin" is comming from the north-french for a small saw <rasse> with suffix <-in>.

It would be very nice to get an answer!
