John Rascoe/Martha Pleasants family
John Rascoe was born in Hyde County NC November 10, 1796 and died April 28, 1865 in White County Tennessee. He was a son of John Rasco Sr. and Mary Swindell or Swindle. He married Martha "Patsy" Pleasant December 5, 1816 in Caswell County NC. Patsy was born about 1793 in Virginia and died in 1878 in White County Tn. They are both buried in the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery near Quebeck, White County TN. Their children were:
(1) Mahala Rascoe born April 16, 1817 in Caswell County Nc. Died May 1, 1907. never married.
(2) William Rascoe born August 24, 1819 in Caswell Co. NC. Died July 31, 1844 in White Co. Tn. Never married.
(3) Martha Ann Rasco born June 12, 1821 in Caswell County NC. Died Aug. 28, 1889 in Limestone Co. Ala. Married William B. Knowles August 4, 1840.
(4) Ann Elizabeth Rascoe born July 16, 1824 in White Co. Tn. Died May 28, 1909. Married John K. Knowles Dec. 22, 1846.
(5) John R. Rasco born July 1, 1826. Died Aug. 25, 1898. Married Lucy F. Bates Jan. 16, 1859.
(6) John Pleasant Rascoe born 1828. Died in the service of the CSA in April 1862 at Iuka Mississippi. Married Elizabeth Carnes abt 1856.
(7) Francis "Frank" L. Rascoe born March 1830. Died in Randolph County Ark. in 1885. He married twice. First wife was Martha Seaman who he married in Van Buran Co. TN. August 26, 1858. His second wife was Rutha Roberts.
(8) Christopher Swindell Rascoe born Oct. 9, 1834. Died Dec. 31, 1905. He married twice. His first wife was Nancy Seaman who he married July 18, 1860 in Van Buran Co. Tn. His second wife was Sarah E. Carter, widow of Meredith "Bud" Carter.I have several generations od info on this family but need to fill in some missing information on descendants.
