James R. Rasco 5/24/05
John Cameron married Mary Cameron in Pike County Georgia August 27, 1828. See James Rasco note # 5. James Rasco married Ann Cropin in Pike County Georgia January 10, 1837.
John Cameron was a widower. He and Lodowich Rasco are both named in the estate inventory of Dr. Archiball Fairley in 1827 in Richmond County North Carolina. Lodowich Rasco is on the 1830 census of Pike County Georgia. In 1860 James Rasco is on the census of Monroe County Alabama with three children but no wife. Apparently Ann had died before then. Included in James's household is a 95 year old Mary Cameron who was born in S.C.
My opinion is that James Rascoe was a younger brother of Lodowich Rasco and that Mary Rasco Cameron was their mother.
Not sure who James and Lodowich father was but at the time of their birth, there was only three Rasco males listed in Marlboro County S.C. THese were James Rascoe, John Rasco, and Alexander Rasco. There was a female head of household in Chesterfield County S.C. named Delilah Rasco in the 1810 census. There were sons in this household. She does not appear in later censuses. Could Delilah and Mary Rasco be one and the same?
