I restore books, albeit not professionally.The first rule is kinda like doctors: DO NO HARM.Don't start using glues, tape, or jump in to a restoration project without knowing exactly what you are doing.With that said, it is possible for an amateur to restore a delicate book.Just do some studying and I _highly_ recommend practicing on other books in similar condition before working on the valuable one.Here is a link to some general info:

If you attempt repairs, use quality materials - for example, use true PVA glue rather than a substitute.You can buy the materials you need from:

If you don't want to undertake a restoration project, you can purchase very inexpensive, high-quality archival storage boxes from Talas that will minimize future decay.
