Hi Sabrina,

Thanks for your note. I really appreciated ordering this "book", which is really the result of descendants sharing info. and documents with the gracious author who compiled it for future generations like us to find.

I have seen our mutual gggggrandmother's name both ways, I have also seen it as "Betsy". I have posted tons of info. on the various related family forums - WILLIAMS; TURNER; DUTY; and other allied lines. If you put my name 'Sheryl' in the search box of these forums you should be able to locate quite a bit for your direct line. My apologies in advance as some of the posts read more like thinking out loud. It's probably best to read them chronologically so you can follow my line of thinking (maybe).

Read through the posts and I will see if I can locate anything further in my personal files after the holidays.

Take care,

Joseph Duty, son of Solomon Duty and Susannah Whitmore, was born 6 MAR 1801 in Laurens Co., South Carolina, and died 11 SEP 1855 in Bastrop, Travis Co., Texas. He married Louisa Turner 16 JAN 1829 in Austin Colony, Texas, daughter of Winslow Turner and Elizabeth Williams. She was born 8 FEB 1812 in Upper Cuivre, St Charles District, Missouri, and died 31 MAY 1896 in Webberville, Travis Co., Texas.

9 viii. William Henry Duty was born 17 APR 1850 in Travis Co., Texas, and died 2 MAY 1915 in Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.

Source trees [surname Duty]:

1. Wells & Scott Genealogy (USA & South Africa)
2. Descendants of Henry McCloskey
3. Jackson/Marquam/Halcomb/Ferguson and related families

There are many trees for WINSLOW TURNER, which of course you are a descendant and qualifies you as a Mayflower descendant. As for my line, no connection has been definatively found.
