Unsticking an old book

I certainly don't know what's best, but perhaps Steam might help to unstick the pages so that the images from the photo's and the text won't be lost.Is this something you have to return to the person? The reason I ask is that if not, then once you get the pages unstuck, you could Number Them and then use a hair dryer to dry to the pages (from the dampness of the steam).
Then perhaps, if there is room, you could three-hole punch the pages, and re-assemble them into a 3 ring binder, placing each page into one of those Non-Acid plastic type sheets (found in Office Supply stores, usually sold in boxes of 50 to 100 or something like that), and this might help the pages from sticking to each other again in the future.
All of the pages will need to be absolutely dry however before placing them into the plastic type of sleeves.
This is just my suggestion, but again as I said, I'm no expert on this subject, but thinking about removing wallpaper, the steam came to mind.
Good Luck and I hope you find a good solution for your problem.
