Hi, Jennifer,

The Rapp family has been in Germany for probably at least a 1000 years. My ancestors came over from the Rhineland in the early 1700's. The wars and religious persecution drove them out. When the Rapps came over they tended to settle in areas that were Germanic so it's easy to believe that your dad and grandad were from Indiana. I bet if they could go back further the family line would go to Pennsylvania or possibly Germany. The mid 1800's also saw Rapps leaving Germany, but that time it was more for economic reasons. My brother has done some great research.

Thanks,
Steve Rapp
