Dear Christine,
Thanks for your reply. It will be good to hear from you when you are ready.
Joseph Raphael was born 12 December 1852, father: Samuel Raphael,
mother: Sarah, formerly Franks.
The address is 8 Wentworth Court.Joseph might be the last born to Samuel and Sarah.
I found the births of the twins Rachel and Leah in synagogue records and I realised they must have died as children.
Thank you for telling me that Abraham and Rebecca emigrated to America.I thought they must have left the country because they disappear so quickly and there are few Ehrlichs around at the time. They seemed to have lived in a pleasant area in Great Prescott Street when they married.
Catharine (Kitty) married Aaron Abrahams in 1861.I think Catherine Abrahams is a widow in the 1881 London Census.
Samuel died in 1858 at 3 Ann Street, Whitechapel.I couldn't find any more information from that lead.
On Samuel and Sarah's synagogue wedding record Samuel is son of Myer ha Levy.Sarah is daughter of Shlomo-Zalman.I have not been able to get back beyond those two. It's quite a wall at the moment.
On Sarah Raphael's death certificate, 1870, Solomon Raphael is present at 7 Chicksand Place.Your great grandfather Solomon would be 21 years.Do you think it's him?
It is very encouraging to hear from you.
Thanks again for replying.
