William, you have been looking for evidence of RAPER transactions in North Carolina before 1725. I examined a database on ancestry.com created by John Lucas with much of the information provided by Jonas J. Hodges.
Email: jonas.j.hodges@intel.com. This information is verified and very detailed. The name is John Raper, from whom,per information I recieved from Tim Raper,I am directly
descended.

I shall now post my tree from John To Henry R. Raper,
which I have already posted.

John Raper was born Abt 1660, and died Abt. 1719 in Pasquotank Co., NC. He married MARGARET Abt. 1687 in Pasquotank Co., NC. She was born Abt. 1662 and died Abt. 1721 in Pasquotank Co., NC.

1688 Oct. 7 Albemarle Co., NC John Raper witnessed the will of Richard Humphries.

1692 May 4 John Raper witnessed will of William Hogbin.

1693/94 Jan 15 Albemarle Co., NC John Raper named Executor of the Estate of William Simson. Charles Taylor witnessed.
Note: There is a Charles Taylor that married one of John and Margaret Raper's daughter Rebecca Abt. 1720.

1694 Albemarle Co., NC John Raper issued warrents for land. One for himself, one for Will Hogbin recorded, and 2 warrents bought from Samuel West.

1696 Feb 25 Albemarle Co., NC Dennis Grahm granted 230 acres in Little River, Pasquotank Precinct adjacent to John Raper.

1696 Oct 6 Little River, Pasquotank Precinct, Albemarle Co., NC John and Margaret Raper witnessed the marriage of Arnould White and Phetheny Wilson.

1719 Pasquotank Precinct, Albemarle Co., NC Margaret Raper paid 15 schellings on taxes for 1 tythable (taxable) for herself. no land.

1720 Apr 9 Little River, Pasquotank Precinct, Albemarle Co., NC Margaret Raper witnwssed the marriage of Arnould White and Jane Pike.

Enoch Raper married Margaret Epps 10 Sep. 1818. She was born Abt. 1799 in North Carolina and died 22 Nov 1841 in Rowan Co., NC.

William, Margaret Epps mother was Patience Coggins. In several databases I have seen Patience's husband as Pleasant Epps, whose tree goes back to the Virginia Epps family that you connect to the ROPER name. Is this coincidence or what?

Enoch also married Nancy Bevers 20 Oct. 1855 in Itawamba Co., MS. She was born 1813 in South Carolina.

William, as you can see, I go back to this John RAPER/ROPER
that is in question. I do find it quite interesting that the RAPER name, in this area, ends here. Therefore, I would like to offer myself to take part in the DNA testing that
you have been promoting. I believe that I can settle this RAPER/ROPER controversy once and for all. Tell me what I need to do.
