Steve, please explain why you think Robert
S. Ranson and Elizabeth (Armistead) Ranson,
his wife went from VA to Georgia.
Perhaps, I am not following your line of thought.
Robert Ranson(father unknown as yet)married Elizabeth Armistead in 1793 in Cumberland Co.,Va. The couple had a son William F. Ranson born circa 1810-1811. VA Census shows a Robert Ranson in Cumberland Co.in 1810.
By 1827, Elizabeth is listed as the widow of Robert in a land record involving her family.
Records suggest Elizabeth was the daughter of Francis and Hannah (Price) Armistead who married in 1776 in Cumberland Co.
William (mentioned above) married Mary Elizabeth Fore in 1833 in Prince Edward Co.VA. He died in 1866; she died in 1865.Both in Kanawha County.
William and Mary Elizabeth's daughter Martha Ranson (my great-grandmother) was born in Prince Edward Co. in 1834. William
moved his family to Kanawha County, (West)VA.
I would be pleased with any assistance/ideas you might have on the above subjects.
