Hi Cousins.I too am a descendant of Capt. Peter Ransone and his son Capt. James Ransone.I found this about James.
Encyclopedia of VA Biography IVBurgesses and other Prominent Persons, p. 311
"Ransone, Capt. James, son of Peter Ransone, resided on the North River and represented Glouchester County (now Mathews) in the House of Burgesses from 1692 to 1700.He left three sons George, Robert and Peter.
Peter Ransone, father of Capt. James Ransone, settled in Elizabeth City county, which he represented in the House of Burgesses in 1652.The same year he patented land on Mobjack Bay in the present Matthews County. He had issue three sons, James (q.v.), George, and William."
I descend from James' son George.
Are you all aware that if you descend from Peter or James you are eligible to join the Jamestown Society if you can document your lineage?
Thanks for the helpful information. I am just starting to work on this line.
