In reply to Marva Hartmans response to Kelly Lawless on Nov 25,2001 #85 of 88. There seems to be some discrepancy in the "Middltown Upper Houses about the history of Hannah Ranney, daughter of william and Elizabeth Wells. If you go on to page 310. Number 242 it says Hannah Ranney ( sister to Joel), b. July 18, 1830, Brookline, Vt.; d. Aug 30 1863, Brookline; m.John Landfear, d. May 3,1873, Brookline; private Co. I, 16th Reg. Ver. Inf., 1862-1863. And then it goes on to give the names of her five children, the birthdates of the two sons and who each of them marries. I don't know if it takes her line any farther than that or not. I'm glad I saw the messages between you two, because it allowed me to find the first discrepancy I had ever found in Middletown Upper Houses. There may quite likely be more, but I have not seen them. However, this just goes to prove that no source is a sure thing. My branch of the Ranney clan ended up in Kentucky. Around Hartford, Beaver Dam, Livermore and Owensboro. This hunt is providing the most fun I've had in a long time. Hope you guys are having as much fun as I am. Janice
