Hi Anne!
The 1820 census for Nelson Twp, Portage County, Ohio shows "Marquis" Morris with a male under 5 as well as a female under 5. Marcus is indexed for 1820 as "Margiris Morris" While the female is almost certainly Harriet, I don't have a name for the male. This male appears again on the 1830 census. On the 1840 census, a Lewis Morris of appropriate age appears, but I do not know if this is the same person, and I can't identify him in the 1850 census.

It might interest you, as well, that Solomon Ranney's gravesite in Delaware County has been located in Bloomville Cemetery, Delaware County, NY, and now has a Revolutionary War marker, although they spelled his name "Renny". Apparently there are written records of the burials that can be researched, and one would suppose that his wife, and possibly one or more children, are also buried there. I think that "Middletown Upper Houses" relied on Solomon's will or probate record for his children, and named daughter Martha Patty Davis, and the wife of Marcus Morris, and no others. I keep hoping that some descendant will know more, but it seems that even the descendants who remained in Delaware County knew nothing about other descendants.
I'd be happy to share info on descendants.
Dorothy
