Immigrant Now Has A Name

We have finally found the name of our Immigrant RANNE, the father of our WILLIAM ALEXANDER RANNE. The following was found and sent to me by a member of my Ranne family:

JACOB GLESSNER was born in 1794, New Brighton, Sommerset County, Pennsylvania. Died March 15, 1882 in Waynesburg, Sandy Township, Stark County, Ohio. married CATHERINE MARGARET WILHELM RANNE, July 20, 1833 in Stark county Ohio, a widow of PETER RANNE SR. Margaret came into the marrage with 6 children, Peter Jr b. 1814, Henry William b. 1819, Catherine Margaret Jr. b. 1920, Joseph b. 1822, WILLIAM ALEXANDER b. 1823, Laura 1825. Margaret was born in 1796, Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland. She was of German descent. Jacob came into the marriage with at least one son, Jacob Jr. Jacob Jr. Glessner married Catherine Margaret Jr Ranne. Jacob Sr. and Margaret Sr. had 2 children, Charles Wesley 1835 - 1839 and John W. b.1840. Jacob Sr. and Margaret Sr. are buried in the Old Waynesburg Reformed Lutheran Cemetery, Waynesburg, Ohio.
