Linda, I have posted before on the Rankins of South Carolina, usually with no luck. My Rankins ancestor is Morgan Rankins born 1818 SC. He was found in Rabun Ga. census in 1850. He and waife Sarah were both born in SC, also some of their children. He is listed in the 1840 Pickens SC census. We think he may have had brothers Marion and Micaja. My ancester, son of Morgan, is Malon Rankins. I know that their was a man named Malon Morgan living in Pickens, but can find no connection. The record that exist in Pikens are very scant.
