I am attempting to find more information on a James Rankin (b: 1804 in Harpers Ferry, VA; d: 1888 in Elizabeth, Jo Daviess, IL) and his wife Catherine Custer (b: 1812 in VA; d: aft 1890 in IL?). I specifically would like information concerning the whereabouts and date of Catherine's death. She is not recorded as having died in Jo Daviess County, IL, where she was living, nor the neighborhood counties. She died after 1890 because of a newspaper article at that time which had her recovering from a fall, but she is not in any 1900 census that I can find. I would also like any more information concerning James parents (Samuel and Ann). I believe Samuel was born c. 1776 in VA and died c. 1864 in Jo Daviess County, IL, but I would like more info on Ann, and also any further ancestors of Samuel.
