I have a Rainey genealogy report published in 1939 by George Washington Rainey - the great grandson of William H. Rainey through his son William Walter Rainey.According to this report, William Walter Rainey was born 5 November 1805. He married Cynthia Hicks then moved to Clinton County, Illinois. They had a total of ten children - five boys and five girls. It is reported that he was from South Carolina, not Arkansas. The report mentions that William H. Rainey was a minister and had married Margaret Fisher. He was from Pennsylvania before moving to South Carolina.
I didn't know of any other children that William H. Rainey had - but according to what I read tonight Benjamin Rainey was married in 1828 so he could have been born anytime before 1810. Nancy was born in 1811. That just means Thomas with an odd birthdate. Since one of the newspaper accounts lists him as an only child - he may not even be a brother to William, Benjamin and Nancy.
