Horace Randolph - Jun 25, 2004
In going through some more of the files Uncle Grady Randolph left for me I found the following in a folder marked Whitfield Randolph. Information from the Bible of Isham Randolph as follows.
"The births and deaths of the sons & daughters of Isham Randolph - by Jane his wife - with whom he intermarried in Bishop gale Church in London the 25 of July 1717.
Isham born the 10th of June 1718 in Shadwall parish he died the 20th June 1718-
Jane born the 9th of Feburary 1720 in Shadwell parish, London (Mrs Jefferson)
Isham born 18th of August 1724 in Whitechapel parish London.
Mary born 15th of OCT br. 1725 in Williamsburg, Virginia (Mrs Lewis)
Elizabeth born 25th DECEMBer 1727 at Turkey Island Va. (Mrs Railey)
Wm. born 9th July 1729 at Turkey Island Va.
Dorothea born 24th NOVer at Dungesess Goochland Co., Va. (Mrs Woodson)
Thomas born 31th March at Dungesess 1732 he died the 20th May 1737
Anna born 5th of February 1734 at Dungesess (Mrs Pleasant)
Thomas born 13th August 1736 Dungesess
Susanna born 24th OCTbr 1738 at Dungesess (Mrs Harrison)
Isham Randolph SEN r born 4th FEBry 1687 Died NOV br 2 1742 in the 56th year ? ?????
Jane Randolph ???? born 14 August 1698 & died the 1st of March 1761."
Just Plain Jane ... and proof positive of birth in London.
None of us will ever nail down those early dates - that's why we must use b.(orn) or c.(hristened).
