Annie Rand was my deceased husband's grandmother. She was as fine a woman that ever was born. I loved her dearly. I have a little information for you. She was living in Boston on Prescott Street when I first met her in 1963. I married her only grandson Benjamin Wilfred Rand in January 1964. She told me that she lost her husband when she was 25 years married. His name was Benjamin Twomley Rand. She has two sons. Edward Benjamin (died in a tank during the war)and Gordon Victor whom she resided with in Pembroke, MA at the time of her death. I'm sure that I must have known her maiden name but for the life of me I cannot recall it at this time. My husband (Benjamin Wilfred) was an only child to Gordon and Edna Florence (Corbett)Rand. The Corbett family were from New Hampshire. Both Edna and Gordon have passed on as has their son Benjamin. He died at age 35 from a parachuting accident so unfortunately we cannot ask him about Annie's background. I do know that she came with her folks from Sweden at the age of 12 (approx). That might be a good place to start. As for her husband, Benjamin Twomley, noone seems to know his background, only that he was a yankee (as I was told). As me questions, maybe it will jog my memory. Hope this gets to you. I believe my daughter tried to answer you early this year but somehow, you and she did not connect. Good luck. I hope to return my email. Lois Rand
