Louis was born in Canada and, yes, a son of a Leon Rancourt. Must be a relative of "my" Rancourt family, but no idea just who he is. I have an idea they all came from the general area near St. Francis.
Somewhere along the line, the "Indian" influence entered the family. The Town Clerk in Greenbush, Me. did tell me of the island in the river and that the "Indians" were there.
