I am looking for information concerning Phillip Ramsey/Ramseyer found in Howard Co IN 1830-1850. I am specifically interested in knowing if he spent time in NC or TN. I believe his wife might be Catherine/Caty Knight, daughter of John and Martha Montague Knight who migrated from Granville Co NC to Smith Co TN.
Rather than leaving a will for probate, John Knight gave his children deeds of gift for property in 1839 and 1840. The Ramsey's of Smith Co TN 1840-1850 Census have been accounted for and Catherine does not appear to be a wife of any Ramsey's in the surrounding counties of Smith Co TN.
We know that Catherine Ramsey was alive as late at 1856 per the following transfer of land between Catherine and her nephews, probably the land given her by John Knight:

Oct 27, 1848. Catherine Ramsy to William A. Smith 97 acres
*Is this William Smith Caty's nephew?*
SMITH CO TN Deed Book X
Feb 15, 1855. William A. Smith to Catherine Ramsey 97 acres
SMITH CO TN Deed Book Y
Feb 8, 1856. Catherine Ramsey to Alexander R. Dillehay 97 acres.
The only Catherine Ramsey that I can find is the Catherine Ramseyer, wife of Phillip in IN.
Any information to verify or negate this hypothesis would be appreciated.
