Hello,

My lineage comes through New Zealand and traces back to Henry Ramsden b.1833 one of the five brothers along with Sir Thomas, Hildebrand, Frederick Woolastom, William Charles.

Henry sent two sons of his six children to live in New Zealand. Henry Oaks Penlington b.1865 and Cecil Corthwaiteb.1868 (my great grandfather)

I have copies of letters from Hildebrand writing to Cecil on 11 Sep 1891 and headed Ramsden-London 150 Leadenhall Street.

The NZ lineage is interesting in itself and can provide more if anyone is interested. I have the full Ramsden family lineage on my account at www.genesreunited.com

It was always suspected in the NZ Ramsden family there was a japanese princess and having now chartered Fredericks life I can see where this has come from.
