Hello Lyce:

I was very pleased to see your post, I have always wanted more information about Henry. He was one of my father's uncles. I knew that he was a British vice consul in the Phillipines during and after the Spanish-American War and that he spent the major portion of his life in Japan.

I know little about his children other than that he had a son named Henry Kazuo Ramsden who was born about Aug 1901. The only information I ever heard about his daughter was in fact a story my father told when I was a child. It was long ago and I can not vouch for its accuracy. It seems that Henry and his wife, a well born Japanese lady, died in some sort of accident and they had very young twin daughters. These two were sent to Cuba to be raised by his mother who was not very happy about the arrangement, but when they arrived and she saw them she was enthralled by them and they became her little darlings.

I have never heard anything more about them. I would be interested in any information you have about Henry and his family.

Jo Bresko
