Hi graham.
This is a long shot but have your ramsdens any connection to holywell and flintshire north wales. I have a james fletcher ramsden who was born in oldham around 1839 who married a frances davies and lived in north wales before living in neston cheshire. I think his father may have been called william ramsden a surveyor and mining engineer who lived in holywell north wales in 1851. James fletcher ramsdens children included charles, john woodrow ramsden ada maria and also martha ramsden. Martha went on to marry in north wales in 1910 to william bennett and they moved to audenshaw and had children including florence, william, thomas and frank bennett. Is there any connection do u think?????
